Where do I start? With another trip to WA, Cam and Tiff visit, Easter, first Rockies game of the year, first haircut, or a broken arm? It's been three crazy weeks. Needless to say I am behind on posting as usual, but will cut myself a little slack.
March WA visit with Monty |
Cam, Tiffany and the girls came in from CA for a visit. I flew in Saturday from WA and met them and Tom and Jan for lunch. It was almost six months since we saw them last. I forget with the little ones how much they can change in that time. Lyla was hilarious and talking like crazy. Dexter can't stop saying her name. I would have never guessed he would say "Lyla" before "Zoe". I'm realizing I went to post pictures I hardly have any...
One of Dexter's new words "Ly-ya" |
It was a good idea at the time - I was trying to wash dishes. I didn't think a See's sucker could do so much damage. I should have given him the vanilla one. |
In the Angel's jersey Kellan & Zoe wore ALL the time. There are some things we've got our money out of it. |
Pre-hair cut with "bear" . He finally found his "thing" to love courtesy of Uncle Cam and Aunt Tiffany from Build a Bear |
Post haircuts |
Dying eggs on Easter |
Every year, we say "Don't buy Rockies tickets for April or May games." It may be 80 degrees one day and 40 degrees the next (it snowed this week). Well we didn't adhere to our own warnings - and we bought tickets. Notice Zoe's in a jacket & Pants. It was cold. It was very cold. The kids really enjoy the games now & will sit and watch. Dexter was great, got a little squirmy in the end, but it was still a fun night.
That is soo a Monty Pope face |
Will only eat with utensils now - makes for a long meal |
With one of my old hats |
Dexter has given up naps lately; unless it's on his dad. |
This next blurb should be accompanied by a picture, but no go there. Two weekends ago now Zoe was out with all the neighborhood kids riding her scooter. She is a fearless nut. Jim was doing something, Dexter was sleeping and instead of doing the 101 things I needed to do, I sat down on the sofa and closed my eyes - for about 30 seconds, then I heard the screams. Zoe crashed. She was holding her wrist and it was swollen. She was not wearing either of her two helmets. She came inside and fell asleep on top of me. About 2 hours later she heard the kids outside playing. She wanted to join them. A few minutes later she came in, decided to go up to my bed and watch TV, at which point she threw up all over our bed. A trip to the ER was next. She had a concussion (not bad enough for a CT scan) and a broken arm. She hasn't complained once about the pain or the cast. Everyone in the ER doubted it was broken because she was moving it so much. The orthopedic surgeon said the same thing. It's a bad break, but she'll heal fine. She's in a full cast for three weeks, followed by a half cast for another 3-4 weeks. Her only thing - she is embarrassed beyond belief, would not leave the house for a week. She's gotten over leaving the house finally, but don't you dare ask about it, take a picture of it, or threaten to sign it! She's an odd child.
Last Kid's quote:
Who said kids keep you young?
Zoe: "Wow, mom, look at your hands."
Zoe: "Wow, mom, look at your hands."
Mom: Looking at hands
Zoe: "They look like grandmas"
Mom: Still looking at hands
Zoe: "Sorry, but they do."
_______________
Zoe: "Mom, is that a zit on your face"
Mom: "Yes, it is Zoe."
Zoe: "That's ok, you only have one, but you have lots of brown spots"
