The Weavers, The Wedding, and The Warriors

The Weavers

The Weavers came and visited us in April which now seems like months and months ago (and really it was months ago).  We were happy there was still a bit of snow on the ground and Devin and TK were able to build this awesome snowman.  The kids hit it off great.  We were honored this was their first airplane trip.  We hope they come back soon and stay more than a couple days!!!
We had G-ma Chloe take a family picture for us...unfortunately....
The Wedding

After a long wait, it was finally time for cousin Erin and Vivian's wedding.  Dexter had been sick for a week.  We got on the plane and he immediately passed out.  Slept the entire way, then was unusually quiet when Papa Jim picked us up at the airport.  Not long after he screamed for a good 3 hours straight.  Cam and Tiff took the girls to the rehearsal dinner, while D and I sat in urgent care.  Seriously, have never seen this kid so beside himself, he ultimately cried himself to sleep.  He had a pretty bad ear infection, but after a dose of antibiotics was back to his old self.  We had a great trip - beautiful wedding, fun seeing folks we hadn't seen in a long time, great time with the family...another whirlwind trip and we are excited to go back in July and stay for a long time (more of a reason for me to "hurry" and post this before we make a second trip to CA)!!!

The Warriors

Jim and Kellan's Warrior Crimson baseball team went 14 and 0.  It was a fantastic season.  They were the top seed in the playoffs with home field advantage throughout.  It was double elimination.  They won their first game and then lost their second.  Losing their second meant a potential triple header.  We were at the field from 8 AM until 8 PM.  They won their first game.  Then before their second game started Zoe and I went to her game (she's still a stud and we're wishing we had moved her up a level).  The boys won their second game.  Both games they came back from behind to win.  I really wanted Jim to write about all this but he won't.  I'm sure he's gone through the play by play in his head over and over.  The game was tied, Kellan's team had a speedy runner at second with one out.  Kellan came up and hit a rocket...the runner should have made it home, but unfortunately the ball hit him and he was out.  The game went into extra innings and they just couldn't close it out.  There's nothing more sad than seeing a dozen ten year old boys break down crying.  Jim won't fess up to it, but he got teary-eyed eye too.  Everyone did.  From a spectator perspective, super stressful the entire season not wanting them to lose, then throughout the playoffs...I'm Ok with it all being over for awhile (and had many beers with the other moms at the end of the season party to celebrate).  Overall they came in third place.  We went to the "World Series" to watch.  It was bittersweet.  In the car Kellan said "I'm Ok not playing, it's too hot and it's on astro turf."  Then once we got there and they "professionally" announced each team and each player was announced when he came up to bat, and he saw the trophies...he got a bit sad.  So did I.  More on Zoe's team next post...
