Avengers, Ninjas and Rockies

The kids have really been into a few things this summer: American Ninja Warrior, building their own Parkor courses, The Avengers, baseball (unfortunately not the Rockies), driving their father crazy (that's a given), Legos....

American Ninja Warrior has been a huge influence on all the kids.  They love watching the show and now make their own Parkor courses in the backyard.  I am sure someone will be seriously injured.  I was up cleaning the loft the other day and G-ma asked me to look out the window and see what they were doing.  Kellan had pulled the hose out, looped it around the play set and the kids were flying through the air (only momentarily).  I gave them an A for effort.  They've stuck to the ground since then, unfortunately for our flagstone which has been relocated.

Kellan has seen The Avengers twice and Zoe brands it as her favorite movie of all time.  This is pretty huge from a child who has never sat through a movie in the theater (at least not without a lot of complaining).  They're both begging me to go see it since I have not yet.  Dexter is probably just as much into the movie even though he has not seen it.  They all sing the theme song non-stop and are into the Lego sets.  Dexter keeps insisting on wanting the "hulk set" for his birthday.

Jim/Kellan team finally won there first two games of the year (back to back wins with Kellan pitching - yay!)  Zoe's still killing the ball in t-ball.  Everyone is amazed when she plays first, catches the ball and then manages to throw it back to the coach at home plate without it hitting the ground first.  I'm putting together a video montage of her hitting and Kellan pitching, but will wait until I get some additional footage before posting.

We had a MAJOR hail storm, the worst storm I ever remember being in.  It was throughout the night.  NOT ONE OF THE CHILDREN WOKE UP.  We seriously thought a window was going to be knocked out or the roof would collapse.  NO ONE WOKE UP.  It was the first night in a long time they all slept through the night.  I still can't believe it.  The roof did not fair so well, all roofs on the block have been totalled.  Super excited to get a new roof, just what we wanted.
Zoe participated in another cheer camp.  The music was all from the 80's.

Jim went on his baseball trip this year, which happened to also be our family's first trip to a Rockie's game.  The kids and I even got to go on the baseball trip...and Uncle Tom and Aunt Jan too!  We traveled all the way to Coors field.  Four of the guys came out for one night (we were sad to miss Dougie Weaver), then three for the rest of the weekend.  The Rockie's got swept, as you can tell by the pictures most everyone was fine with that....

The guys really wanted their picture taken with Dinger
All the kids Loved Bichel.  I mean look at Zoe?
The tooth came out, unfortunately the tooth behind it is pushed a little far back in her mouth.  We're hoping it makes its way forward.  We're waging 2 of 3 of them will have braces.  That was only one of them, the other is still in there, with a tooth completely in behind it - nope, we never made it to the dentist.
The return of big slide.  Every summer we're amazed it inflates.  Dexter was jumping off the top by the end of the day.  Fantastic.  Munson Loves the water too, which will probably result in the end of the slide.
Kellan actually said today he wants his haircut.  I am having mixed feelings, I really like it (yes, I'm totally serious, I love the blond), but can't blame the kid.

I know another video of the kid's singing.  I haven't posted half of them.  Kellan's best friend has gotten him into Michael Jackson.  So they watch a lot of videos.  I have a video of Kellan dancing like Michael Jackson, think a little bit about that, and then think about Kellan doing those same moves but with a LOT less coordination.  I can't post it, it's a bit obscene.  And I don't know if I am more embarrassed by it, or him.
