First Post - It's A...

Since it seems to get more and more difficult to share stories, emails, pictures these days (I've failed miserably), I thought why not try a blog?  This is going to be our (Yes, Jim has to help me and will probably do most of this) attempt to get better at communication and updating everyone on our family.

So we thought, why not start big.  This first posting will be to let everyone know the gender of our forthcoming third child.  We announced to the kids at dinner they will have a sibling this summer, the various responses were:

Zoe - "I want a pink one"
Kellan - "can I have some more orange chicken?"
Zoe - "I want to call her Zoe"
Kellan - "I want to call him Ed, Eddie"

If you are interested, watch the video for the big reveal.  Please we'd love to read your comments...but please, only positive comments.  The other video is of the ultrasound (watch at your own risk, unfortunately the baby gave us a butt shot as soon as she got it in focus), the kids will never be the same after watching it...

I'll keep this short to encourage future posts on my part.

Wish us luck!
Tara, Jim, Kellan, Zoe, Duke and ?

(oh, and we hope to spruce this site up one day, but will start with content first)

  1. How could I not live for this moment. What great joy and happiness lie ahead for all of us. It's settled and we're ready for our next grandson. I already have new life and excitement. Mike has called, Mom has screamed "have you checked your email". I had not, but to give me credit I said "it's an announcement", one that we have been excited about getting. This guy will confuse you like crazy because you'll wonder how can I love anyone as much as I already love Kellan and Zoe, and you'll find that without giving up any of theirs you love him just as much. The mystery of being a parent, What a luck kid!!!!!

  6. HOWDY - IT CAN'T BE JUST BECAUSE I'M THE GRAND-DAD - EVERYONE MUST AGREE THAT IS THE MOST PERFECT ANNOUNCEMENT AND THE ACTOR'S COULDN'T HAVE DONE BETTER - EMMY PERFORMANCE. We should have a name for him prior to his arrival. Something that can be changed at birth. Something the kids can relate to. How about: Lil Bro - Restless Bro - Big Dude - Bare Bottom - Hey You - Colorado - 5 - I'm sure Kellan and Zoe would knock this out of the ballpark.
